Friday Five {Around the Web}

Oh hey there!  How have you been??  I can't believe the end of summer has arrived.  This has been a memorable one, for many reasons!!  As we head into Fall I am really hoping to establish a routing.  I want to find a way to balance and prioritize friends, fitness, work, cooking and cleaning.   I am looking into establishing schedules and a rewards system.

How to you make everything work?   I would love to know how you are preparing for Fall!  Give me your life hacks, please!!!

Friday Five {Random Thoughts and Happenings}

Hello Love Bugs!!!

I hope you are all doing well and ready for the weekend.  It seems like things have been stressful, emotional and overwhelming for a lot of people lately.

Be kind to others.  Be kind to yourself.

xx-M

Bagby Hot Springs
Over the weekend a friend and I headed to Bagby Hot Springs.  The drive was just shy of two hours and the hike in took about 45 minutes.  We soaked in a carved out log for around two hours, had a great picnic then swam in the VERY COLD river.  A great day trip as we close out this beautiful summer!

Cleaning My Purse
I recently cleaned out my purse.  I found two lip stains,two glosses and two EOS balms.  I never would have identified as a lipstick person until this great revelation!  I'm thinking of getting some darker hues for this fall.

Taylor Swift: Shake It Off
I should be embarrassed by how much I love Taylor Swift's new song!  But, I'm not!  Wait, what does that have to do with a postcard of the Prince George's Great Grand Mum?!?!  Well, this adorable card arrived this week.  I feel like the Queen {or anyone on top} would agree with the lyrics: "Cuz Haters Gunna Hate, Hate, Hate,Hate, Hate!

Beautiful Ruins
I finally read Beautiful Ruins!!  I put this snap up on Instagram {@merecdavison} and was amazed by all of the comments people had about the book.  I had picked up a copy about a year ago and finally dove into it last week.  It is a really complex and beautiful story about love, loss, obligation and the journey that is life.

Unless you are new around here, you know how much I love Tique Box!!!  My August box just arrived and it is absolutely wonderful!!  While a full review is coming next week, I had to share the snap of this amazing card.  I'm tempted to keep it for myself.

I Went on Vacation {Part #FavoritePlacesWithMyFavoritePersonTour}

After celebrating my cousin and her wonderful new husband, I headed West to my hometown.

While it was a fast 36-hour visit, I was able to see, eat, and spend time with my favorites!!

As Seen on Instagram: Best Dairy Queen in the entire world!

Main Street in Montana!!  {Note: Previously mentioned Washoe Theater}

Taco Time!

 Moscow Mule Cocktail Party with Friends and Family

As Seen on Instagram: Too good not to share twice!

Grilled Pizza!

More grilled pizza!

Mass produced Moscow Mules!!!  More on that later!

Selfies with my godmother!  She is the coolest and my life inspiration.

Candy stop at The Sweet Palace!

I went on vacation {Part 1}

As previously mentioned, I was just on vacation.  This included putting on my Bridesmaid Hat for my cousin's wedding, visiting my hometown, having a quick layover in Portland with my sister, then, heading to Lincoln City.  It was quite the trip with quite a few legs.  All glorious.  All exhausting.

Shall we begin with the first part?

After a late night arrival, K and I stayed up giggling, swapping stories and sending selfies to mutual friends.

I found this art at my Aunt S and Uncle A's rental highly amusing.

On Thursday, my Aunt Sand Cousin S hosted a beautiful spa party to celebrate the bride and thank the bridal party.  Mimosas were a big hit!

There was a minor mix up with the scheduling.  A and I ended up having a couple's massage.  The perfect way to bond with a new friend, RIGHT?

Because preserved fishes deserve to feel beautiful on someone else's wedding day!!!

Rehearsal Dinner time!!!  Montana is the prettiest.

Friday Five {Pin the Pain Away}

I need to be honest: this week has completely kicked my butt.  Despite all of my prep, planning and list making this #vacationhangover was intense and painful.  To fight off crumpling up and crying on the floor I have taken more than a few Pinterest breaks.

How are all of you doing?  Any tricks for getting back into routine?  What are you loving right now?

Camille Styles just put up a great guide on how to pull together the perfect bagel bar.  UHM, yes please!!!

This calls for one simple hash tag.  #truthstatement

It has been hot and humid in Portland.  Not the most complimentary elements for my hair.  This style is polished, cool and easy!

While telling my sister about all of my besties she warned me to be careful with my heart.  I have to admit, as I have gotten older, I've become quite generous with my love.  And I have no intention of stopping!

Skinny jeans and boots season is just around the corner.  Making my  tan fat is better than pale fat theory for shorts season completely obsolete.  This workout actually seems doable.

As Seen on Instagram {Take Tre}

Hola, Butterbeans! I am back in Portland after 10 days of adventure in Montana and Lincoln City!  While I have several posts planned to recap my time away I am currently nursing a serious vacation hangover.  My body is missing leisurely cups of coffee, laying in bed until 9am, and eating whatever my heart desires.

So, until I pull my life together, clean up this inbox and stop yelling at Pandora for playing such suggestive songs, I'll just relive the glory with a few Instagram snaps!

Flying out of PDX requires a little  @PDXCarpet love!

The wedding was held at a private ranch outside of Bozeman.  There is a reason it is called "God's Country."

Celebratory drinks before the rehearsal.

Bridesmaid selfies before the ceremony!  Such babes!!!

Back in Anaconda at the world's greatest Dairy Queen.

Since my time in Anaconda was so short {less than 48 hours} my parents hosted a Moscow Mule party.  This allowed me to enjoy their amazing backyard, my favorite people and the best drink ever all at once.

That great company included one of my oldest friends, Adam!  We have been friends for almost twenty years and haven't run out of things to talk about yet!!

For our Portland layover I introduced Steph to my favorite food cart, Kargi GoGo.  We had a little bit of everything!  Of course, she loved it!

Steph also requested we check out Tilt.  Again, she loved it!!

We made it to the Oregon Coast.  It was COLD but gorgeous!!

A beautiful sunset to end vacation.

Friday Five {Flashback}

Hello Lovelies!!  I can't believe I have been blogging for the past 8 months!  That is practically the entire gestation of a small human!!!  How did that happen?!  I say this on a regular basis, but, the best part of blogging is the friends.  I've met some really wonderful people that I get to spend tons of time with!  Since it would be odd to have an entire Friday Five dedicated to my favorite blogger friends, I'll just share some of my favorite Martha Chartreuse posts!

Perfect for summer feet and sun drenched skin

Because it isn't summer vacation without pies!

This refreshing cocktail is perfect to get the party started.

Hanging out with this gem right now!

A must have 7-days a week.

Tique Box {Monday's With Mere}

Hi Lovelies!!  I am having such a great vacation and can't wait to tell you all about the wedding and my Montana adventures.  I am off to the beach but wanted to share my review of this month's Tique Box which is a Summer BBQ theme!

Be sure to stop by, I even shared a recipe for mustard glazed salmon!!

Friday Five {Wedding Menu}

Right now, I am soaking in all kinds of Montana Magic at my cousin's wedding!  For the past 10 months there have been countless GChats, emails and texts in preparation for this weekend.  Secret pinboards, several events and lots of care to help this lovely couple celebrate the beginning of their marriage!  Whenever I am this close to a wedding, I often think about what I will do if I ever walk down the aisle.  While there are many unknown variables I do know what I would want the day to taste like.

Have you thought about details for your future nuptials?  If you have said "I Do" what was on your wedding menu?

Cheers, Love Bugs!!!

Champagne & Whisk{e}y Bars
If you know me, you know bubbles and whiskey are in my wheel house of preferred beverages.  Now, imagine a variety of types, brands, mixers, fruits and accouterments for custom cocktails?!

Cheesecake
Wedding cake is great and all but it is not my dream dessert.  I am a cheesecake girl.  Always have been.  Always will be.  So why, oh why, would I have a cake instead of individual cheesecakes?!

Mini Beef Wellington
Since this is one of my signature dishes it seems appropriate to serve at the wedding.  Gordan Ramsey style, of course!  Montana beef, please.

Shrimp Cocktail
If you've been to my parent's holiday party, you know this is a given.  It is one of my favorite dishes and a must have!

Washoe Theater Popcorn
My hometown has the most amazing theater.  It is an art deco, one-screen gem with a balcony!!  It is beyond fantastic.  The best part is 100% the popcorn and ice.  Yes, I said ice.  Since that would be an impractical line item, buckets of the world's best popcorn will have to suffice.
