Oregon Explored {Cannon Beach}

Wednesday, February 18, 2015

While those on the East Coast have been experiencing cold, blustery weather, out here in Oregon the weather has been unseasonably warm. To take advantage of the sunshine and temperatures in the 60s I've been trying to spend as much time as possible outside.

On Saturday we headed to Cannon Beach. I won't lie, the water temps were much warmer than when I visited the coast in August - and not windy at all. Strolling along the water towards Haystack Rock allowed me the opportunity to play with my new Canon and get a lot of pictures.

What really stood out to me was how many people were out enjoying everything Oregon has to offer. From young families to older couples, puppies and singles, the ocean waves and rippling sand cast a sense of tranquility. Perhaps it was the open space. Maybe the salty breeze. Or the the overwhelming views and scenery. No matter what, I highly recommend a day trip to Cannon Beach!

  1. I somehow like the beach people on the Oregon Coast a lot more than my fellow beachgoers on the sandy swimmable beaches in California or Florida (I prefer more isolated beaches there). I think part of it may be the tranquility our beaches offer and we are all there to appreciate it so it's a very different vibe.

  3. Lovely post and photos! We were on Canon Beach this past weekend, and the weather was glorious. Our favorite-four-year-old stripped down to underwear and t-shirt to play in the tide pools around Haystack Rock. Then finally the marvelous fish & chips at Bill's Tavern. Fabulous day.
