Easter Weekend Recap: Part 1

Monday, April 21, 2014

This past weekend was jam packed and wonderful!!  Friday night was low key and involved a few house projects.  Saturday started with coffee at Commissary with Rachel!  On my way home I shuffled through all of the pretty pink petals carpeting my neighborhood.

I arrived home and quickly set the table for a light lunch with Torie, who was in town from Seattle.  I have mentioned Torie quite a few times as she is a dear friend from college and a very fabulous blogger!  We were able to catch up, talk about all of our favorite things, and, even plan a really fun collaboration for the blogs.  I can't wait to tell you more about it!

Lunch was a simple mixed green salad tossed with shredded chicken, strawberries, cucumber and pecans.  I served it with poppy seed dressing on the side and tortilla chips.

Torie brought along some bubbles, orange juice and fresh rosemary.  The rosemary was a really nice way to remix the traditional mimosa.  It helped cut the sweetness and made it feel extra fancy!

After lunch, we met up with her husband and some friends at a brewery. On the way there, 10 whole blocks, we got caught in heavy, heavy rain quite a few times.   To avoid the downpour we popped into a few shops along the way.  My favorite, Thea, always has unique and one-of-a-kind inventory.  It is a really inspiring space filled with beautiful treasures!

We had such a fun time chatting, exploring and planning a few visits where we have plenty of time to hang out and do all of our favorite things!  Stop by tomorrow for the rest of my weekend recap!

  1. I love the idea of rosemary in the mimosas!! Super cute! I have tons of petals on my street too. It's been fun watching people walk by and marvel at them (a couple people have even stooped down to pick them up and throw them, confetti-style, into the air--love it!)
